EJ, (Edward Jayson Basa) is a musician/photographer from Angeles City, the Philippines, currently working overseas in Guangzhou, China. He has worked hard and saved money for his family and 6 younger siblings since high school, working in Malaysia, Japan and China. It brought him no greater joy than to see his sisters through their education, and eventually buy his parents a home.

On October 27th he received the news that his sister and parents neighbouring homes had burned down. The first was started by a candle left on an altar in his sister's house.

His nephews and niece, aged 1, 6 and 10, suffered 3rd degree burns on their legs whilst trapped in their bedroom. His brother-in-law is in a very critical condition, needing operating, after battling through flames to bring his children to safety. They are currently in the hospital, and need help covering their medical bills.

EJ and his family's life-savings and possessions were in those houses. Please contribute what you can to help the Basa family recover their losses.

Thank you so much.

  • Have already donated, but for some reason it never showed my name. I feel embarrassed asking for donations when it clearly doesn't have my name in the donations list, so I'm donating again. Also a lot of people seem to be struggling with the PayPal link so it gives me a chance to see if that is working fine and if it is not then maybe Lorna can do something else. Lovely to see photographs of the children in happier times and see that they are getting the treatment they need, and also to see that the world is filled with such kind hearted people who all want to help. Love to all of you, Ruth Gee
