The help we need to heal my wife

Hi, my name is Christian, a proud father of a very playful but very sweet 5-year old boy named Boinky and a husband to my beautiful wife Eich, without whom, I would be lost. I am here because my wife has been battling a very aggressive form of cancer. Determined to do whatever I can for Eich and Boinky, I’ve come here for your help.

Eich

Eich (real name Reichelle) has always been my best friend ever since we were in college. I always thought that we weren’t meant to be together because it seemed like the timing was always off when it came for the both of us. When it finally happened, I found contentment, something that I didn’t feel in my past relationships and I knew now, that the time was finally right. As they say, good things come to those who wait.

And in just two years, we welcomed our son Boinky, who, though some people say is the spitting image of me, has the heart and the strength of his mother.

Our battle with cancer

Two years ago, we received some unfortunate news. Eich was diagnosed with cervical cancer. And as devastating as it sounds, we knew that there was nothing we couldn’t overcome, not if we were there for each other.

She had to undergo radiation treatment, which meant that though we can’t give Boinky a baby sister or brother, it meant more time together.

Then less than a year ago, we have learned that it had spread to other parts of her body. The cancer has metastasized in her lymph nodes, developing tumors in her lungs, neck and pelvic area.

These past few months have not been easy; not for me nor Boinky and especially Eich. The treatment originally prescribed is not working the way they should, so her doctors have recommended upping her meds. I could see the fire in her eyes slowly fading as her strength wanes because of her chemo treatment. I didn’t want to admit it, but the helplessness was likea disease all on its own; like a virus spreading in our house, draining the life of everyone in it. I didn’t let anyone else see, but I took it hard and it made me think that maybe we really weren’t meant to be together. But she was still here, and my son was still here, why was I already giving up when the battle has yet to be decided on.

With the help of my family and friends, I managed to keep my head high. They made me realize that, now was not the time to be weak-kneed. My wife and son need me now more than ever.

The help we need to win this fight

We all know that cancer treatment doesn’t come cheap. Along with having a full-time job, I’ve also tried being a Grab driver; we’re also selling oils and ointments, as well as t-shirts for cancer awareness and support. But it’s still not enough for the kind of treatment she needs.

She will need 500mg of Avastin (Bevacizumab) for eighteen (18) sessions. Each vial will cost at least PHP 145,000.00(approx. $2,900.00). In total, it will take at least PHP 2,600,000.00 ($50,000.00) just for her medication alone.

I am not here to ask for that exact amount. I understand how hard it is to donate hard earned money, given the huge expenses you all need to support your own families. But please let me ask for however much you can share. Any amount will go a long way. Every penny means more days, months and hopefully, years, that Eich gets to spend more time with us, with Boinky.

Thank you for taking the time to hear the story of my wife and our family. We are grateful for all the love and support you have given us, and we would really appreciate it if you could pass the message along.

Finally, please let me ask one last thing: as you say a prayer for your family tonight, please include my wife, for her completion e healing and for my family, that may we have the faith and the strength to keep fighting.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Christian

Recovery and gaining strength back

Update posted by Christian Alan Gutierrez at 12:54 pm

Hello Guys, thank you for your support in our campaign for financial assistance for my wife's medical needs and for spiritual uplifting as we are seeing that there are still so many people that are willing to assist those in need. As of today we are still not pushing through. . . . .
