I'm discovering a new way to incorporate a normal desktop graphics (video) card with a mobile ultrabook. Normally ultrabooks (very light laptops) do not have the space to include powerful components that allow for high processing power and graphics. Students who study computer science and architecture often require strong computing powers to process their projects.

An eGPU (external Graphics Processing Unit) allows for students to be able to bring their light laptop between home and school while still having the necessary power to process what they need. It is the perfect solution for students who do not want to spend an extra $800 to get a new desktop PC.

I'll be testing this viability through the use of:

  • AKiTiO Node
  • AMD Radeon HD 7700
  • HP Spectre x360 (13-w013dx)

This fundraising is just to afford the cost of the AKiTiO Node.

Please help me realize this project. If all goes well, I will post my project/setup step by step for fellow students to acquire the perfect balance of portability and power for computers!
