My name is Beatrice Ambang I am from Cameroon specifically from Bamenda located in the North West region. I am a teacher by profession and a community development volunteer.

Cameroon was colonized by Britain and France who instituted the English and French systems of government. These two systems have been operating for decades now with serious administrative problems. The English-speaking regions (minority, two regions) have for over the years been complaining of being marginalized by the French speaking regions (majority,8 regions). In 2016 an uprising began in the two English speaking regions (South West and North West) that resulted into a civil war till present. This war has led to untold suffering of millions of people who were living below the poverty level. There has been massive destruction of homes, schools, businesses, valuable properties, thousands of deaths, forceful displacements, separation of families etc. Schools were shut down and for five years now children have not been attending school in these two regions. A few of the children whose parents can afford migrated to other safe regions to attend school but the majority whose parents are poor stayed behind. These children are the most affected by the war because they do not have the opportunity to go to school, some have lost their parents and have become street children

As an educator I feel the pains of these children and decided to help in my own small way by starting an institution called Leaders’ Academy that incorporates internally displaced children due to this war. I constructed a small structure (see photos and videos) which accommodates some of the children but it is not comfortable for effective learning.

L am pleading with people of goodwill who value the education children to assist me through funding to help these children have a sound education.

I need the funds by February 28th, 2022 so that I can finish construction before the rainy season which begins mid of March.

The funds I will received will be used to:

  • Construct 3 classrooms ($ 5000 USD)
  • A fence($ 2500 USD)
  • Teaching/learning materials for pupils ($500 USD)
  • Roofing toilet($ 250 USD)
  • Benches, tables and chairs ($ 1000 USD)
  • Electricity supply($ 500 USD)
  • Water supply($ 250 USD)

TOTAL($ 10.000 USD)

On the behalf of the pupils and teachers of Leaders’ Academy and myself , we thank you in advance for your generous donation which will put smiles on our faces. We will forever be grateful. God bless you.
