I have been applying to multiple universities for the past 4 years but every year I get rejected. This year I was accepted for the first time since I've started applying back in 2016.
Unfortunately, due to financial reasons I am unable to take this opportunity to study further and provide myself and my family with a better future.
I am currently unemployed and with the current on-going Government situation in my home country, South Africa, I am unsure when I will be obtaining a career.
I spend my days applying for multiple positions from waiting tables to restaurant managing and many more, I have the relevant experience, but there are no vacancies available.
I applied for multiple bursaries as well, but I have been unsuccessful with that as well.
I truly believe that the only way I can provide my family and I with a better future is through proper education.
I have since High School worked hard to obtain good results in both academic and sport. I was to of my class for Maths as well as Computer Studies and I was Captain of our First team Field Hockey, Tennis, Swimming and Rugby team.
If I were fortunate enough to pursue my dreams of studying further I would like to study Education and Psychology. With a degree in Education and Psychology I will be able to assist many whom find themselves in the same situation as I do.
University, unfortunately, is a very large expense and after careful research I have discovered that the average tuition fees for an Educational degree whilst majoring in Psychology is roughly around R30 000,00 in South Africa, including Text Books, Exam Fees, Registration Fees, Transportation, Accommodation and Meals it all accumulates to about R80 000,00.
I truly believe that with proper Education we can all inspire on another and assist one another to build a better future not only for ourselves but for the many people out there whom struggle to do it themselves.
