Good day, everyone. I am Rachel, an English teacher here in Riyadh. Teachers like me would understand what it feels when a student fails to attend the class because of financial struggles.
To make this description short and straightforward, I have a student who isn’t (technically) enrolled in the current school year, 2018-2019. This school year is already about to end in two months and it’s only now that I learned that my student isn’t enrolled. For this reason, my student and her sister, who is a graduating student, were given an ultimatum to pay for at least their registration fee and miscellaneous fee. If given the chance to pay for these, they may come back and attend school again and finish schooling. That’s also the reason why I set the fundraising in quite a tight deadline.
The amount to be raised would already cover both my student and her sister’s fees for the said school year.
I’m doing this because I know how it feels to have nothing. It isn’t their fault that they couldn’t pay for the fees. Please do not question the parents whether they are not doing anything or what because they are actually doing their part as parents because I’m sure that no parent would not do anything for their children. They are sending two of their other children in college, both of whom are in the Philippines, which result to their current situation.
Thank you so much for understanding. Gob bless, everyone!
