I am Sulfiya Marnillini and I recently finished 10th grade at Silliman University last April 30, 2021.

Primarily, I am here to secure my future. Since the pandemic, we have been struggling financially and looked up to bank loans and borrow money to sustain our needs. Our funds weren’t enough to pay the school for both me & my sister who is 11-years-old and also finished her 5th grade last April 30 so our relatives from abroad brought aid by funding our education for the school year 2020-2021.

My grandma notified me that I can’t go to school next school year because of insufficient funds and that we could only afford letting my sister go to school because of insufficient funds and that we still have to pay our debts. I don’t know exactly how much because this information is disclosed to us probably to keep us from worrying.

My step grandfather receives his monthly pension from the Philippine Coast Guard but because of corruption, he and other retirees weren’t given the right amount and they are currently fighting the active officials involved in the corruption in court.

My step grandfather’s pension is our only source of income that’s divided for food, monthly bills (e.g. electricity bills, water bill, internet connection,) and also for my uncle's release papers, court trials, and lawyer service fees because he was sold by his friends, when they were about to go to a fiesta, to again, corrupt police officers and framed him that he’s a drug seller or user. Now, he’s a person deprived of liberty and we're only waiting for COVID to lessen its impact on our society so that the government can speed up the release papers and document processing procedures.

Being in the middle of our problems, I took the initiative to think of a way of improving our financial stability. As entrepreneurial as I am, also being a part of Generation Z, I plan to launch my first online business at the age of 18 which is a year and seven months away from now. I was given the opportunity when I received a DM on Instagram by drinkolicious ( account name ) respectively.I would retail Weight Management Products from the company Valentus and potentially earn 6-figures in 8 different ways. But since I’m currently 16 and underaged, I am not eligible to start the online business.

With this opportunity given to me on March 8, 2021, I decided to take a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Economics.

With this initiative, I aim to lessen my grandparents’ financial burden in sustaining our family’s needs and allow myself to be financially dependent and support my family overall by launching businesses in order to provide our needs in the long run.

I have a knack for fashion and possibly launch my own clothing brand in the future where I will also earn from. I would also document my journey towards these plans and dreams and upload it on Youtube and gain from it.

I will study a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Economics to responsibly manage these businesses and potentially flourish them into large-scale operations that will be available worldwide. I am an environmental advocate and patronizes sustainability. With this things in mind, the products I would sell in the future would also be eco-friendly. Starting with the Weight Management Products which are 100% Vegan and natural.

Being underaged, I plan to make all these things a reality when I reach the age 18 which is a year & seven months from now. My birthday is on November 26.

These are only dreams at the moment in which I am taking action to accomplish because they would be called wishes if I’m doing nothing to reach them.

The Costs:

To lessen or if possible mitigate my family’s financial burden, my goal is to ask for funding that would cover my Senior High to College Education.

In Senior High, I will be taking the ABM strand under the Academic Track which, according to Edukasyon.ph, provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to work in the corporate world. This senior high school strand is for students who want to become business leaders and entrepreneurs.

In the first semester of 11th grade, the total amount is P31,646.03 that is equal to $658.41. The second semester costs P35,126.44 that’s equal to $730.80. While the total amount of cost for the whole school year is P66,772.47 that is equal to $1,389.11.

In the first semester of 12th grade, the total amount is P31,288.54 that is equal to $650.91. The second semester costs P36,079.71 that’s equal to $650.91. While the total amount of cost for the whole school year is P67,368.25 that is equal to $1,401.51.

The total cost for Senior High is P134,140.72 that is equal to $2,791.10

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In undergraduate studies in college, the total cost for one school year is P30,927.84 that is $644.33. Multiplying it with 4 years of study, it amounts to P123,711.36 that’s equal to $2,577.32.

Masterals & Doctorals of Graduate studies costs P25,039.09 that’s equal top $521.65 and P28,366.82 that’s equal to $590.98 respectively.

Combining all costs from Senior High to College, the 8 years long education amounts to P311,257.99 that is equal to $6,478.01.

The remaining $3521.99 if there’s no taxes and transaction fees for this campaign will be used for maintenance and business start-ups.
