Education for Minakshi

I recently employed a cleaning help at my house. Minakshi, a 10 year old girl is the daughter of Sunita. After a month or so Sunita stopped turning up and sent Minakshi for work. Since she was only 10 years old we refused letting her work and her mother pro mised that it was just for 2 days so we let her be there. Minakshi saw me completing a few documents and very innocently asked me if it was very difficult to read. I replied back no, she said maybe I will never be able to do it. She shared her story that she always wanted to go to school but could never do so initially becaude of her alcohol addict father who would often beat her and her mother and then later she started working with her father. She said that it is her dream to be able to understand English and work on th ecomputer just as I was doing but would never be able to do so becaus eof the financial crunch. This fundraiser is for Minakshi for helping her realise her dreams and help her ill mother.
