A Campaign in Afghanistan
Decades long wars have devastated the environment in Afghanistan, and impacted the opportunities for the disadvantaged to get an education! However, youth in Afghanistan are saying #ENOUGH, and voluntarily restoring mother-earth through widespread tree plantings. They have also opened a school, in the freezing winter months, for kids who cannot afford a good education, due to the high levels of unemployment; some of the poorest students actually live in caves in the hills just outside Bamiyan.
The Core value of this campaign team is to both save and serve humanity and our planet. Through extensive education in nonviolence and permaculture, they have come to realize that Earth is the only shared mother we have, and youth must take action to stop the total devastation of our beautiful earth and our future.
Youth volunteers have initiated programs in Bamiyan and Balkh provinces of Afghanistan to transform their communities through early education, tree plantings and environmental restoration. Awareness and skills building programs are transforming their communities, and the programs, with their proven success, will be expanded to other provinces.
Programs for Fall, 2019 through Summer, 2020, including:
- Cleaning public parks and school campuses quarterly
- Planting 200+ trees in the parks and borders of the streets.
- Nonviolence classes for kids and University students.
- Providing life skills workshops for youth and elderly such as conflict resolution courses, permaculture education, etc.
- Restoring polluted waters, and conducting awareness programs on water conservation
All activities are volunteer driven, which is culturally an unfamiliar concept in Afghanistan. We are changing lives. We invite you to be part of our team; your contributions will continue and expand our successfulprograms, and help us to make significant changes in Afghanistan!Tashakor!Thank you!
