This Campaign is for the sole purpose of funding Jamaican students who may need helps in funding their college education and/or starting up small businesses.

I grew up on the north coast of Jamaica. Here I made into a BA program at The UWI-Mona because of my single mother who endlessly sacrificed more than I can possibly pronounce just so her first child could do something new for the family - get a college education. She made that sacrifice so that I could one day help her and my siblings get where I am now.

Though I made it this far (2.5 semesters left to complete my bachelors in Communications), there are many boys and girls like me - all over Jamaica - who are willing to be the best they can be! Unfortunately, a significantly large percentage of them can barely continue their studies after high school. The sad part about all of this is that they are all brilliant people who, because of financial limits, might never become the world changers they were meant to be.

As a student I can totally relate! I still have colleagues from as far back as pre-school who just didn't make it to college because the expense was too high. I might still be young but NOW i want to more than just relate. I genuinely want to help.

I want to see more young Jamaican entrepreneurs, more young Jamaican academics and more Jamaican students who didn't quit their law or med degree because the tuition cost was too expensive. I genuinely want to help.

The $50,000(USD) collected each year will go towards at least 4 Jamaican youths:

tuition fees - in full for two students

funding for start-ups - for two Jamaicans.

Where the target is reached or surpassed each year, more students and young entrepreneurs will be funded. These individuals will be contracted to live and work in Jamaica 5 years after being funded. This is to ensure that the country does not experience a brain drain.

Rewards

As a student ambassador of UWI-Mona, I will personally ensure that such a donor is featured in a audio Interview and a press release to be published to a Jamaican and Caribbean audience. This will be backed by my office as ambassador. This will give exposure to the donor, as token of our gratitude.
