My husband Ed D'Silva intends on dragging his 70-year-old body around the streets of London, 26.2 miles to be exact in The Virgin London Marathon on Sunday, 26 April 2020 to raise funds for Brain Research UK and his target will be £3,000.

Let's all of us together show him that it's not impossible, we can do it.

The brain is one of the largest and most complicated organs in the human body.
It is made up of more than 100 billion nerves that communicate in trillions of different types of connections.

All our Emotions, Senses & Actions are all controlled by the brain. It is how we process the world around us and when it breaks down, we break down!

Why fundraise for Brain Research UK I hear you ask?

Because personly, In November 1992 when I was only 17 years old, I Was the Victim of a "HIT & RUN" I was in a coma for 6 weeks & suffered TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) I also spent the next two years in a wheelchair & lost the power of speech for that time. But thanks to my strength & will to live, I'm here, to tell you all about it.

I do know that Brain Research UK look into Acquired Brain & Spinal Cord Injury as well asBrain Tumours to search for any form of repair.I know that I have been very lucky in my recovery, but, with the help of the Charity Brain Research UK, a lot more people stand a greater chance of recovery.

Brain Research UK focusses upon:

Acquired Brain & Spinal Cord Injury

There are over 50,000 people in the UK living with the long term effects of (TBI) traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury as well as hundreds of thousands more living with the effects of non-traumatic injuries such as stroke & despite long term rehabilitation, many people do not regain full function. Do you know somebody like that? Our research is to advance understanding of how to repair the brain & spinal cord.

Brain Tumours

Brain tumours kill more under 40-year-olds than any other cancer. 11,000 people every year are diagnosed with a brain tumour & 5,000 of them lose their lives. There are at least 130 different types of brain tumour presenting different symptoms and their diagnosis & treatment are extremely difficult. We need to fund research to understand tumour development & to develop the treatment.

Please, do check out the web page: https://ed-s-running-the-2020-london-marathon2.webnode.com/ & donate whatever you can to Brain Research UK & then after donating, why not pass me on to all your friends.
