My name is Ednecia Matlapeng. I was born in a small town called Rustenburg to a beautiful family of four children. My mother has worked very hard over the years to take great care of us and I am grateful for her efforts. I will be completing my honors degree in computer science this year at the university of Cape Town and although we have covered various computing subjects we have never dealt with web development in full depth. A few months ago I decided to take it upon myself to learn web development. I love being able to use my skills to build something that is not just beautiful but also helps people's businesses. My computer science background was quite helpful in helping me get a grasp of a lot of the concepts but I later on struggled to find the right resources to become a well rounded developer.

There is a lot of information online to teach web and mobile development but it is very difficult to to get a strong overview of how to build web applications that are ready to be released into the real world, until I found a coding school in Seattle called Coding Dojo. They run a 14 week bootcamp that teaches people how to build fully functional mobile and web applications. Their program has been tried and tested for 15 years and has proven to be a great success wiith Alumni being employed by some of the best tech companies in the world such as Google, Facebook and Amazon. On the 21st of September 2017 they informed me that I was selected to join their program that begins on the 22nd of January 2017. As much as I am honored and thrilled about the amazing opportunity, I am also in need of funding to attend the boot camp.

This is a great stepping stone for me to launch my career as a developer. I want to start an all women tech company as well as a similar boot camp here in South Africa. To help students who are also interested in computer science but do not have the opportunity of funds to pursue it .

The bootcamp costs $13,495 and $7,500 for living expenses. This brings it down to $20,995 (for verification please check the Seattle boot camp: http://www.codingdojo.com/tuition-and-scholarships )

The deadline is: 20 January 2018
