EDGAR’S FUND FOR HIS DAUGHTERS’ EDUCATION

Edgars life was taken from him too early at the age of 49 years old.

He dedicated his life to looking after his beloved wife Madelen, and 5 daughters Sheila Mae 27 yrs old, Gladys 23 yrs old, Lyka Joy 21 years old, Lailanie 17 yrs old and Donna Grace 14 years old.

Offering his daughters a good education was his dearest goal and the majority of his modest earnings in Hong Kong went to fund their schooling.

In this spirit we would like to continue Edgar's dream for his daughters to have the opportunity of a better education than he did - and try and raise some money to help Lyka, Lailanie and Donna Grace finish their education as this was also one of Edgar's last wishes.

Just a little bit about Edgar's life to help everyone understand a bit about the man.

Before he came to Hong Kong 13 years ago, Edgar started his life as a fisherman in his hometown Manomac Cuyo Palawan philipines. He then moved to Subic Philipines to work as a fuel man for 5 years in the Hanjin company, before venturing to work in Hong Kong where he had been since 2007.

Edgar was a very kind, warm-hearted and loving man and always worked with a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humour and was very much loved by all those that worked with him. He looked after 3 families in Hong Kong, who were all very fond of him and treated him as family. He looked after all the children as if his own and they will no doubt forever have sweet memories of Edgar.

He touched many peoples lives in Hong Kong and everyone only ever spoke of him with words of love and friendship. He was honest, protective, generous, helpful and respected by all his employers and good friends.

in summary, we would be grateful for any contribution towards this good cause. As without Edgars income the family will find it likely impossible to continue with Edgars daughters outstanding education.

Sheila Mae, who is now an accountant, prepared a transparent and detailed budget. An estimated 20,000 USD (160,000 HKD) is needed for all 3 girls to reach graduation.

Lyka Joy (21) is studying Civil Engineering at college and the course finishes in 2022.

Lailanie (17) has ambitions to go to college next year for a 4-year course to study criminology and go into the police force.

And Donna Grace (14) is aiming to finish school in 2024 and then go on to college.

We will monitor the monies raised as closely as possible to make sure they go to the studies directly.
