Help my mom sustain her dialysis treatment.

Hello Everyone,

I am humbly raising funds for my mother, Elena de Leon, 71 years old, who has been diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis alongside her recurring blood infection due to chronic kidney disease on her recent hospital confinement. She was at the Adventist Medical Center Manila on May 31, 2020 and the complications have caused her to undergo more tests than usual, including her initial hemodialysis. An attending neurosurgeon suggested to conduct a CT scan on my mother because she was having frequent episodes of hallucination. The test found that she had recently experienced mild stroke that affected the memory part of her brain function. The doctor said that the recent conditions of my mother makes her even more delicate than before.

Fortunately, my mom’s body is responding to the medication and is slowly recovering. I have now come to a point of accepting all of these as our "new normal" aside from the mobility limitations brought by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the additional needed treatment is beginning to take additional toll on us.

As I am currently laid off from work due to the pandemic, I am now seeking monetary donation and contributions from your generosity to support my mother's medical expenses. Inasmuch as I would like to help my mom recover when her hospitalization is over, I presently have no means of income to defray the regular treatment cost. For six months, I am estimating the expenses for 2x a week hemodialysis and maintenance medication and follow-up visits to the doctor and to offset the recent 12-day hospitalization expenses to reach Php500,000.00.

Before this ordeal started, I was earning from my work as a staff at a travel agency. As the industry continue to experience severe blow from the health crisis, I am still uncertain if I can land on a similar job or compete with everyone else in other sectors.
