I’m a 20 year old student living and working to save money in Colorado. After studying abroad for two years at the University of British Columbia I realized that I wanted to run my own volunteer program someday. I decided to take a gap year and start my volunteer experience as soon as I could with a volunteer program in Ecuador this April. I would love to work for a volunteer organization in the near future and wanted to take the chance to volunteer someplace that could lead to other opportunities. I chose this program because I love the conservation aspect as well as the help with local communities. I can’t wait to start the greatest adventure of my life so far!
About this project:
I am registered to volunteer for 8 weeks in Ecuador with the global volunteer network! GVN has done some amazing work in this area including environmental conservation, sustainability projects, and local education. Located in the Napo province of Ecuador, the rainforest surrounding the Amazon Biological Reserve is one of the most biologically diverse places on the planet. Volunteer activities here include collecting samples, reforestation, and teaching English in local schools.
The program cost alone is $2400 and with the flights, accommodations, shots and other expenses it totals almost $4000. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
