My name is Enoch. I am a senior at KNUST, Kumasi, where I am studying Agricultural Biotechnology. My career goal is to contribute to existing research into plant and animal sciences to advance knowledge for building sustainable agriculture in African farming societies.
This winter, I intend on volunteering in Cote D'Ivoire on a climate-themed project, between 27th December and 19th January 2020. During this period of time, I will live and work in Cocody, a suburb within the capital city of Abidjan.
The ECOTOUR project seeks to Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning through the facilitation of workshops and group activities related to responsible consumption of flora & fauna, water, energy consumption & sustainability, waste, recycling.
To participate in this project, I need a total of $1000, which will cover my flight costs, transportation within the city, feeding, accommodation and insurance. Furthermore, a percentage of this amount will be used to procure materials for the workshops and other events that will be held as part of the program.
I am passionate about this project because it will provide me with experiential learning in a multicultural environment, expose me to a community of changemakers who are optimistic about creating change within their communities and will equip me with skills that will be integral to the advancement of my career.
By donating or by sharing with your network, you would be pushing me a step closer to the realisation of this goal and I will be very grateful.
