Ecohome – making a dream come true

Hello all,

Here is my short story: My name is Daniel, I'm 28 years old, I'm from Romania and I work as a PC operator at a local transport company.

I'm starting this campaign with the future of this planet in mind and with the thought for the future generations to come. My monthly salary is barely enough for me and my wife to pay rent, buy water and cheap food.

I'll list below a few reasons why I started this project ( to build a green eco house):

-> Help the Environment and reduce environmental impact ( by using green products that are made using sustainable manufacturing practices and naturally derived, safe, non-toxic and biodegradable. Using energy-efficient, renewable or recycled materials lessens a person's environmental footprint, or impact on resource use and pollution. A green home produces fewer carbon emissions through efficient energy use, keeps trash out of landfills and lessens the impact of new construction on the world's finite resources.)

-> Become a Green Role Model ( Once I finish this eco-friendly home and see how well it works and gives back to the environment, others will most likely follow suit. As more join in, it means a healthier planet for us all to enjoy! Setting an example for children guarantees a brighter future for our planet as well.)

-> Nature Took Care of Us; Its Time To Pay Back

-> Protect the health of all around us

-> Produce green energy with solar panels and give it back to the community

-> Reduce air pollution

-> Help to slow climate change

-> Using less water

-> This house will be 100% eco friendly and will run 100% on electricity( no fosil fuels, no wood ) and more than 90% electricity will come from the solar panels.

-> Every day I come to work and I see everyone producing lots of paper, plastic and other type of waste. I have decided two years ago to go completely green and my work is now 100% only on the computer. I'm trying to teach also my co-workers to use less paper and plastic, and think of the environment. I've also developed an website for everyone with a database where they can keep all the registers and reduce the using of paper. I believe that building this eco house will set an example that living on this earth can be done without polluting and destroying everything around us. Furthermore I'm planting trees at each end of the winter to still improve the environment.

I know that by doing this is only a very small step in helping the earth and making a better world but every decision taken will leave a footprint for all generations to come. This is the legacy I want to leave to my future children and to everyone around me.
