Eco-volunteering – Nature needs our help!

Hello everyone,

I'm a 24 year-old French girl whose life goal is to help protect the Environment, and the species that live on our planet. I am more and more concerned by the state of our oceans, which play a major role in influencing changes in the world's climate and weather (oceans cover over 70% of the Earth's surface and represent over 99% of the living space on Earth). Preserving them, also means preserving us, and the future generations. Activism brings meaning to my life, and the more I stay in France without taking action, the less comfortable and happy I feel. I have learned it is very difficult to enter any wildlife conservation organisation when you're not a biologist, oceanographer etc. A few weeks ago, I discovered ProjectsAbroad eco-volunteering opportunities and it all made sense. This is where I have to start: I have to go on a volunteering trip! I decided to choose the mission in Fiji islands, because it has to do with protecting the coral reef systems as well as preventing shark finning in Fiji waters. The trip is quite expensive, about 2500 euros for 2 months (900€ flights, the rest goes to the conservation centers there) - unfortunately, the NGO's charging you for volunteering are the only ones allowing people with no diploma in ecology to get close to wildlife - and I am currently unemployed....That's why I am asking for your help! Help me realize my dream, get field experience, and help our Nature. Every single euro (dollar) is welcomed. If I don't manage to raise enough money, all the donations will be returned, or sent to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
