Campaign Story
Eckhardt was born on the 7th of January 2023, 3.040kgs and 52 cm long. As parents we all want our children to be happy and healthy.
As a father i am writing this with a heavy heart, asking for help.
Due to complications at birth at a public hospital our son was admitted to High Care for bleeding under his scalp, he was kept in High care due to his condition and also due to severe jaundice that developed because of the injury to his scalp. He had received a sonar to his kidneys, liver and head before he could be discharged. Upon his head being checked it was discovered that he has a 3rd degree IVH (bleeding on his brain) which is quite severe and thus he could not be discharged, we have to wait for further assessment, the complications can cause long term damage to his brain if left untreated for an extended period of time. The diagnosed condition can affect development, learning, motor functions and can cause cerebral palsy.
We are now waiting for a CT scan to be done and for the results to be sent to a neurologist at a public facility for assessment but with the long waiting list in public hospitals and time being of the essence with a case like this we are asking for any help to get Eckhardt's case to a private doctor and facility as quick as possible to give him the best fighting chance on his road to recovery.
- The funds raised will be used to get Eckhardt's CT scan done as quick as possible at a private facility.
- Get the scans to a private neurologist for assessment and discussion on possible treatments.
- Get the recommended treatment done as soon as possible.
As stated any help would be very much appreciated and not squandered, any funds left over will be donated to a medical charity to assist parents to get their little bundles of joy treatment as soon as possible.
We would appreciate any and all help very much.
Thank you for your kindness and love.
