Everyday women and children of Eburru spend more than 8 hours looking for water. Families walk long distances in search of this precious commodity.
Women and girls are vulnerable and rape cases have been reported. Young boys and girls have dropped out schools since they spend most of their time looking for water. Unwanted pregnancies, early marriages and sexually transmitted diseases are stories that have touched most of the families.
Poverty is rampant in this area and most families earn less than 2 dollars a day. We are targeting 100 families in our first phase. Our intentions are to provide each with a Dam liner of 0.5 mm with dimensions of 8m by 4m by 2 m for rain water harvesting.
These damliners will help the families get about 64000 cubic litres of water. The water will be used for livestock, farming and household. We also plan to give each family an improved beehive.
Through bee keeping families will earn a living from the sale of honey. The cost of each dam liner is 26,500 and an improved beehive goes for 10,000. We intend to raise 3,650,000.00 in our first phase. We cannot achieve this without your generous support and contributions. Let's join hands and touch these families. Going hand in hand with this Campain we have also planned for an event on 24th of October,2020 at Eburru forest dubbed Eburru Forest 4x4 Challenge Charity Cruise. The event is a fundraiser to help us raise funds for our cause. We thank you for your generous cobtributions and also invite to our event.
