My name is EBONY and I'm Malamute's dad Hugo. Hugo is only 7 months old, and he has already brought joy to me and the thousands of others who have followed his journey on TikTok and Instagram. The little guy has lost sight in his right eye and has shown incredible resilience during his short time on Earth.

Unfortunately, Hugo recently returned to the animal hospital after showing signs of disorientation, lethargy (tiredness), pacing and increasing thirst. My fiance and I were told Hugo was getting a liver bypass. Liver shunt is congenital (he was born with it), a condition in which the liver doesn't filter toxins properly, meaning they build up in the body and can cause neurological problems.

The vet told us that the best way to treat the disease was to operate on Hugo's liver. They also told us that if Hugo did not undergo surgery, his prognosis would not be good. Without surgery, Hugo will die next year.

The GoGetFunding will help pay for pre-surgery tests, surgery, drugs and post-surgery treatments. We still have a long road ahead of us, but we are confident that this little guy will pull through and live the happy and healthy life he deserves.
