Eager to try and raise £10,000 to help secure our home

Desperate being quite the word right now. One that I've finally let go, of being too proud to use. It's one of those 'I'll take the long shot' times for me. ...I've been given the opportunity to purchase the property that I'm currently living in, with my 3 children. I've been renting for many, many years. I moved 12 times as a child between the ages of 8-15. I have three children aged 8 months, 4 & 6. I really want to create the stable roof for them that I never had. It would mean so much to me. I need £10,000 in order to make this happen. I have made an application for a mortgage and have informed my mortgage broker that I will do my absolute best to raise £10,000 by January of next year. I've been informed that with this outstanding amount, I can secure our home. The rest I've managed to work hard for over the years. Am just short of this sum. Purely by faith alone, I'm hanging on to some hope that this may happen. I'm still keeping in mind 'why should anyone help'. I feel selfish asking but also feel desperate to at least try. We live in a flat. It's nothing grand, but it's a home that we've all grown to feel at home in. This is my last resort. I've been working lots, e-baying all that I can, and now I'm here.
