Campaign Story
As you may be aware, I started an Educational Support Centre at the beginning of the year (2017).
My mission is to help as many children as I possibly can to ”Cope” with the debilitating pressures
and struggles a dyslexic child faces in our current school system.
After being in Education for the past 15 years and having a truly remarkable dyslexic child, I
strongly believe that every dyslexic child is a “Star”…Within every child beats the heart of a
superhero, and when equipped with the proper tools, he or she could grow up to be whatever they
are passionate about … an inventor, find the cure for cancer, end world hunger, or stop global
warming – be the next generation of real life super-heroes.
When you turn on the light - Thank Thomas Eddison … who is Dyslexic
If you are reading this on an iPhone or apple mac - Thank Steve Jobs … Dyslexic –
When your get into your car … Thank Henry Ford …. Dyslexic
The list goes on … Alexander Graham Bell, Bill Gate, Albert Einstein, Richard Branson to
name but a few.
These people have changed our “lives” for the better! Why?
Because they think out the box, they see the big picture and there is no stopping their
determination to make a dream or a vision reality!
Yet, a learning disorder like dyslexia can rob children of their chance to soar if not dealt with
correctly. My journey with Dyslexia started very close to home, “My son Tai started out far below
grade level, but now he is reading and writing as well as many of his peers. Through the guidance
of Sharon Gerkin, the dedicated founder of DASA where I then trained, Tai has received amazing
tools for his journey, and he KNOWS that he can attain victory in his quest to read and write
successfully.”
I have had the opportunity to help quite a number of children this year, but not nearly as many as I
would have hoped to and the biggest drawback seems to be the financial constraints of the
Parents.
So after much soul searching I have decided to venture into looking for sponsorship for my centre,
so I can offer bursaries to families that will benefit. No-one should be “punished” for not having the financial means.
You can help Out of The Box Education Centre accomplish this important work by sponsoring a
child. We can help restore a handful of children to peer-level reading capability – one child at a
time – and free them from a life of poor academic performance and low self-esteem. We could
have had a hand in helping the next “Eddison” or “Jobs” realize they are brilliant and can achieve
their full potential.
“Tai will always struggle with his dyslexia. But because of the help he received, he finally feels like
the victor.”
Out Of the Box Educational Support Centre is changing lives by making reading possible for
children in this community. You can help change a life, too.
Join with us as we strive to give children with dyslexia the chance to shine. With your tax-
deductible donation, you can become a sponsor and help support a child’s tutoring at Out of the
Box Educational Support Centre.
The sponsorship income goes directly to providing tutoring-related services (R7500.00 (£400) per
programme) for children with dyslexia. You can be confident your commitment is going where it
should go – to the children who need it most.
Please sponsor a child at the centre. You will change a young life forever….and make a star
shine!
You can also co-sponsor a child by donating a partial Bursary.
As the holidays are fast approaching, it would be a god sent to offer three children the life line they
so desperately need to achieve in the last term and final exams.
Donations to support the children that have and will continue to approach Out of the Box
Educational Support Centre are greatly needed and appreciated. Your donation to our centre will
be acknowledged with a letter of appreciation for your tax records.
Thank you so much for consideration and support.
