Urgent plea for everyone to stand together and help a close friend of mine who has been through so much this year. She is a single mom and due to some unfortunate events leading to massive financial restraint she has lost her home (currently living with a friend) her children, who have had to reside permanently now with their father as she cannot afford to be the primary caregiver at this time and had her insurance on her vehicle cancelled do to non payment.
She is working now and trying to rebuild her life when yesterday in Durban we were hit with a massive and devastating storm. While at work, Her vehicle was parked a distance away and by the time they were notified of the storm happening outside the mall where she works the water was already knee deep and rising fast. It was impossible to safely move her vehicle and it was completely submerged in water.
The last blow to a year of hard knocks. I know what it is like to have tragedy strike when you are in a financial crisis it is terrifying to say the least. Needless to say without insurances the implications of the flood damage are huge.
I know it seems like a massive amount but NOTHING is impossible and I can't sit by and watch someone that needs help without trying to do everything I can. If everyone can give a little it can go a long way to changing a life and restoring the broken.
Any little bit helps, please also share with everyone you know so we can get her car repaired ASAP as it is her livelihood at stake
