Greetings of peace!

I am writing this letter to you on behalf of our team in the "AkyaTeam Inc.”, a group of natural advocates and stewards that aims to promote the beauty of the Philippines through mountain climbing and trekking. Apart from this, our group, which is composed mostly of young professionals, is conducting volunteer works through charitable activities and outreach programs with the hope to uplift the lives of fellow Filipinos, particularly the last, the least and the lost.

In relation to this, we organized an outreach program on December 11, 2016 for the benefit of the Dumagat tribe of Brgy. San Mateo in Norzagaray, Bulacan.

The Dumagat (origin: “Duma” meaning hubad and “Gat” from gubat) people are of the Agta Negrito groups found in Luzon. In the past, these people lived in coastal areas of Aurora and Quezon provinces and were lords in their own domain however, because of the coming of Filipino homesteaders into the Agta area they were pushed into the mountains, and dispersed in small groups (one of which is found in Norzagaray, Bulacan). The group is being managed by Bro. Martin Francisco, President of Sagip Sierra Madre Environmental Society and a missionary of Blessed Sacrament Missionaries of the Poor Inc..

The charity event aims to teach proper hygiene practices and provide them with their basic needs and help raise funds for their water source project.

Basic needs

Rice

Canned goods

Slippers

Powdered Milk

Medicine for common illness

With this, we humbly ask for your support to this event.
