Dublin's Krishna Temple, ISKCON's Only Foothold In Urban Republic Of Ireland, Is In Immediate Danger Of Closing Unless We Can Raise 36,000 Euro For The Statutory Required Installation Of A Sprinkler System.

Please donate and share this message with all your friends both locally and all over the world... otherwise we risk losing the newly formed community of devotees that we have carefully nurtured for the last 5 years.

So far thanks to the helps and donations of devotees we have collected 12,000 Euro altogether and need a sum of another 24,000 to be collected so that we can meet the requirements of the Sprinkler System. (See link to our previous fundraising here). We would like to once again express our heartfelt appreciation by saying a huge thank you to all devotees.

Our Temple in Abbey Street is open to the public 365 days a year for either private darshan (worship) or public programs.

For 52 weeks of the year, every Sunday, we have our regular Sunday love feast which has become an essential element in the spiritual well-being of all our members. It is our main weekly event and often brings up to a hundred people to Krishna's Temple. The Tuesday night Kirtan often attracts more than 40 souls and has also become an integral part in the spiritual life of so many.

Our Temple's Immediate Danger of Closure

During the last year, with your help, we have been implementing modifications to our building, in line with a directive from the Dublin City Fire Officer. However, when making our final application, the Fire Officer requested further modifications - in the form of fitting a sprinkler system on the upper three floors.

Unless this is fitted, he will no longer allow any form of worship or gatherings in our building, effectively closing the Temple down, which would be a devastating blow for all of us.

We have received three quotes from different recommended companies for the work and the best quote came in at 36,000 euro. Having already exhausted our resources for the previous modifications, we have to now somehow raise the 36,000 euro or close our Temple indefinitely, something we would prefer not even to contemplate.

Please help us to keep our Temple open by donating whatever you can and sending this fundraising link to friends and devotees everywhere.
