Drowning in Student Loan Interest

I graduated college four years ago, and my degree did get me a decent job, but the amount of debt i have hasn't gone down very much since my loans went into repayment. I pay mostly interest and hardly any goes to principle. My  job has me located in DFW and the cost of living here is much higher than where i used to live in Louisiana. My wife and I both have student loan debt, which seems like it will never get paid off. My thoughts are if i can get mine paid off first, then i can put the monthly payments i have been making towards my wifes to help pay hers off since her loans are much more than mine. We want to be free from our student loans so we can start putting money into savings, and hopefully start a family. Thank you so much for your consideration!
