My name is Grant Drisdelle; in 2007 at the age of 45, I suffered a massive stroke following heart bypass surgery. Since then, my left leg and arm have remained paralyzed. My trade requires me to work with my hands that now; I am no longer able to do. I became hopeful when I discovered a medical device called Bioness. This device applies controlled electrical impulses stimulating the paralyzed muscles to wake up; and operate those limbs that have been affected by the stroke. These devices are worn by the patient until the paralyzed limbs can operate on their own again. My left leg has a condition called “foot drop “This causes me to trip and fall down. When I’m down, I am unable to get up because of my left arm that is also paralyzed. My left hand uncontrollably clinches into a fist so tight, that the fingernails cut into my palm causing the hand to bleed. Needless to say, this single event, has been devastating to my family and I. Unable to make a living, has been especially difficult. I became compelled to pursue the cost of these rehabilitation devices only to be horrified, that the price of $7,500 for the leg device, and $7,500 for the arm totals $15.000.This is what it will take for me to obtain this badly needed technology that can change my life for the better. Having these devices will allow me to return to my career once again so that I could provide for my family. I am most humbled by this request, and wait anxiously for the hero’s of this world, to come forward, and change our lives for the better! Gratefully yours,
Grant Drisdelle.
