Campaign Story
The existing drinking fountains come with a plethora of problems such as:
1. Inconvenient to drink.
2. Water feels unhygienic.
3. Not possible to fill the entire bottle.
4. Water scales and residues left behind after using.
5. No practical medium to find out the sanitation of water.
The use of drinking fountains is declining day-by-day and people are switching to buy bottled water. A single major reason for the decline is because people "feel" it is unhygienic. If each of us decide to donate a buck or two, we can afford to have a water testing system in SCAD. Results from the tests will help us compare the sanitation of bottled water versus drinking fountains. This will indeed encourage the use of refillable bottles.
The recommended eight glasses of water a day, at U.S. tap rates equals about $.49 per year; that same amount of bottled water is about $1,400. Bottled water, not only wastes plastic but also requires 3 times the amount of water to manufacture a single bottle.
Ever wondered if the water you consume is fit for drinking?
Now is your chance to receive trusted analysis of the water you consume and your donation will provide an opportunity to successfully test the water we drink at SCAD and will also provide a platform for developing innovative solutions which address the problems of these 97-year old design of drinking fountains. There is an urgent need to get the water tester at SCAD so we can move forward with designing the next generation of drinking water fountains.
Donate $2 and receive the testing results from drinking fountains.
Donate $5 or more, and receive a detailed report every 15 days for the next two months in addition to a comparative analysis with packaged water.
Join us today, so that we can built a better tomorrow.
