Hello, my name is Yannick!
I'm a self-taught language learner and teacher, currently living in Argentina.
When I finished High School I became fascinated with the Japanese language after my friends showed me some of Studio Ghibli's films.
This spiraled out of control, so to say, and I became very interested in all sorts of languages soon after.
For some reason I still can't fully comprehend, this made me wish with my utmost inner self to travel to Japan and learn their language and culture. This resulted in a frustrated attempt as I never really managed to save up enough for it.
The biggest obstacle of living where I am right now is that finding work has become extremely difficult because of our currency's devaluation.
In the last year I’ve also lost most of my students, which were paying me what they could afford for my lessons, and finding even freelance work has now become difficult in Argentina due to Covid-19.
I've managed to save enough for a plane ticket but I'll still have many other expenses, mainly my future college tuition.
For the last 8 years I've been working towards becoming an interpreter and studying in a Japanese university. This requires a lot of effort and time to arrange. I'm currently learning five languages on my own: Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Italian, French and Japanese.
Any help, no matter how little it may seem, will bring me one step closer to making that dream a reality, and will never be forgotten!
Thank you all for reading until the end!
