Campaign Story
I am raising money to help pay off my student loan debt and go back to school. It has been a long time now since I have been out of school and recently I started looking into going back to obtain my MBA to be able to teach at a college level. During this pursuit I learned that I still have a private debt to settle with the school. While attending school I paid for most of my schooling out of pocket via working and with the help of my mother, whom passed back in 2002. During my last year of school I ran out of funds and the job I had was not paying enough to pay for it. Therefore, I joined the school cross country team which at the time offered to pay 500 dollars of my tuition and allowing me to pay the rest after graduation.Since I have graduated my career had a slow start, I worked a few jobs here and there until I found a job in my field of studies. I accepted a under paid job just to gain some experience in my field. I was there longer than I expected to be, I got married and spent the past 13 years supporting my family on a single home income. Now with my six year old just embarking upon his long educational journey I find myself as I help him with his school work, remembering what I truly hope to gain from going to college and that is to be a college professor where I can help spread my knowledge with seeking scholars. Paying off this debt will help me out tremendously because I do want to go back to school but I can't right now since I have to pay this debt. I am not able to get financial aid so if I were to go back to school now I would have to pay out of pocket which is something I can't afford right now. It has been my dream to help others so once I complete this MBA I plan to not stop until I have obtain my PHD in hopes to start something to help others that find themselves in my situation.
