PROJECT FOR STREET CHILDREN IN LOUGA, SENEGAL
Do you want to support a new project in Senegal?
Dream catchers in Senegal is a non-profit charity, run by two passionate Danes, who are global travellers.
This idea arose in January 2018 where we met the boys andbecame determined to make a difference by starting Dream Catchers in Senegal in cooperation with Mr.Aziz Abdoul Ba
He is a trustworthy official in Louga, Senegal, who guarantees everything locally.
The project will support 50 homeless, street children between the ages of 6 and 12 who live under severe poverty with no food or education.
All they own is ragged clothes and a small plastic container that they use for begging for leftover food daily.
All year around, they sleep outdoors on the dusty ground.
Our first goal is that each boy be supplied with:
- a mat to sleep on
- a blanket to have over them
- a pair of shoes
All the materials are produced and bought locally.
Secondly, we want to send them a strong and sturdy safari tent, especially made for their severe rainy season, strong winds and heat.
This costs 5000 euro.
Eventually, we want to be able to provide them with one solid meal a day made and delivered by paid local women.
An experienced local teacher will become a part of our project to teach the boys basic subjects.
