We heard from Juliet yesterday and she was jubilant that the report was "The surgical resection margins are free of tumour infiltration" meaning that they got the tumour!

Juliet will be seeing the doctor again on Friday and will know at that time if she will undergo radiation (likely). The pain is becoming more manageable so she is using regular pain killers. There was some fluid that was making her uncomfortable that needed to be removed, and it sounds like a bit more fluid will be removed on Friday.

Juliet is even considering travel to SA for a planning meeting given that she has missed so many in the last months. We are not sure if she will be able to or recommended to go, but it is wonderful to hear her think forward to a healthier self.

As always, she sends her immense gratitude to us for our combined support.

Juliet has been released from hospital and is relieved to be home. The tumor was a grade three spindle cell sarcoma in the left thigh, and has been surgically removed. Juliet is to meet with the doctor next week to discuss follow up, and will keep us posted. She has expressed much gratitude to all for being with her in spirit. We all care deeply for her.

On Friday we received an e-mail from Juliet to let us know firstly that she is "ever so grateful for the effort you make in supporting my treatment.". She let us know that she is much better now from the effects of chemo and the doctor says that she can go ahead and arrange for surgery. She is investigating her options in various countries. The first quote Juliet received from South Africa is US$36,000 so as you can imagine, she says she is "praying that the actual is far less". Your continued support is appreciated. As she prepares for the next stage in her treatment, please keep her in your thoughts.

Juliet is about to have her fourth and last round of chemo treatment on Friday, October 9. She is currently suffering from the side-effects of her treatment, but is hopeful these will improve. She sends warm greetings and much thanks for the support she has received. This helps to keep her spirits strong.

An update from Juliet received via e-mail today:

Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for keeping up the fight. I came out of hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Today, Friday I feel a little better though weak. I am battling the side effects. I still have no appetite for food. But I at least take porridge, juice, some fruits. I am positive and believing that I will get strong by next week.

The next chemo, the fourth before they assess to see if surgery can be done is on October 9th.

Thank you for your love.

Juliet
