Douglas Vunyinda Kilumbi is my Brother In-law. He collapsed in the house on November 24, 2019 and was rushed to the nearby hospital where they ran tests and a CT scan was done on his head and it was discovered that he had a clot in the brain that caused a vein to rapture which cause a blood spoilage in the brain. Since the hospital was unable to handle the situation, they referred him to Aga Khan Hospital where he could get specialized treatment. He was received at the hospital on November 25, 2019 at 06:00am in the emergency unit and decisions were made to take him to theatre for surgery where the clot was removed and the ruptured vain was corrected. The surgery was successful and he was out of danger. He is out of ICU now. The hospital bill in HDU is between $1,000.00 and $1,500.00 per day. We the family are appealing to well wishers to assist us to settle the bill at the hospital which is growing at a very high rate. The doctor recommended that we take him home for home based care just to reduce on high bills in hospital. The hospital wouldn't allow us to take Douglas home before we clear the bill which is $50,600.00 as am writing this. The home based care will cost the family $500.00 per day and again it's still high for the family to manage. Please assist where you can and you shall be blessed. Thanks as you purpose to assist.
