Douglas kicking cancer

Douglas (15) was sent home from school first week of November 2012 with swelling of the neck. We didnt think it was anything but a infection so off to the ER we went. After a series of tests everything came back normal & then the word cancer came out of the doctors mouth & said to get a second opinion.
Next was to see his doctor which he has had since birth. When his doctor felt his neck I had a feeling there was something wrong. He got us in at Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh within 3 days.
This is when our world got turned upside down. He had a biopsy of one of his lymphnodes & it was cancer.
Feeling of anxiety, fear, denial & everything you can think of came over me. He was admitted & that day started our cancer journey.

After a few weeks his hair fell out in big patches & he didnt see it at first. When I did I didn't react too well. It was then I realized how mature my boy was. He said "Don't worry mom, its just hair".

Over the past 5 months we have had a lot of help through family, friends, & his school. We are now feeling the effects of financial problems.

Our savings is depleted & having troubles. We put our son as our #1 priority as it should be & this has caused us a finanical strain.
