Doug’s College Funding

Hello, my name is Doug.  I am trying to complete my college education in physical therapy here in Stevens Point, WI at the University.  There have been many times where I have considered dropping out of college due to financial reasons.  Unfortunately, my parents do not help me out for my college expenses and I have completed 3-1/2 years on my own working full time during sometimes of the year and at least 20-25 hours/week during the rest.  I do not blame my parents at all for not helping due to the fact my mother has Multiple Sclerosis and has had her own troubles with the disease.  She has been unable to work and my father has kind of been out of the picture since I have been 6.  I am the first person in my family to go to college, but I have had great troubles trying to balance out groceries, rent, utilities, car expenses, work and school.  My grades have been fairly good (around a 3.3 GPA), but struggling with work and expenses have caused great trouble for me to focus on school.  I plan on moving on to graduate school after this next year, but I need to improve my GPA to at least a 3.5 to ensure I have a good chance of completing my educational goals.  Currently my vehicle has broken down, making it even harder to commute to school and work.  I am trying my luck on here to see if there are any caring individuals who may be able to help me out... I just do not know what to do anymore to try to balance all of this out.  It always comes down to financial troubles... all that I am looking for on here is to raise money to fix my car or maybe to get a more reliable one.  I am currently driving a 1987 ford escort that just has not been reliable.  I want to finish college so that I can help people, like my mother, with debilitating conditions.  I am just looking for someone who may care.. even for a stranger in need.. Thank You for taking the time out of your day for reading this.-Doug
