According to UNHCR (Nov 2018), The Burundian refugee situation is at present the lowest funded of any situation globally. Burundian refugees in Rwanda arrive to find camps full and only temporary shelters available. This is highly due to the dramatic shortfall of funds and the continuous growth of Burundian refugees to the neighbouring countries.

Through generous contributions from the government, UNHCR and Save the Children, some Burundian refugees are being moved from temporarily structures to modern camps with semi- permanent structures and innovative response plans. Even if the funds from donors help to improve refugee life -by providing basic needs, it still not enough. Donors has to share limited resources to a growing number of refugee crisis in the world (Syria, Sudan ...ect). As a result to this, refugees in the camps lack food and have difficulties accessing healthcare.

This has prompted us, Burundians working in the medical field in the United Kingdom, to set up a club raising fund to help refugees in Rwanda.

Our goal is to see these refugee families become self-reliant and full of hope, for their future.

A donation to us has an immediate and substantial impact on these refugees, going directly to the vetted families. What is more, as we are entirely volunteer operated, 100% of your donations will go entirely to them.

BHPC UK in collaboration with BHPC France and Rwanda, is committed to providing 150 Burundian families in the camps with businesses and create a sustainable source of income, and a lasting positive impact on the life of refugees.

With your help, #Don’tForgetme Campaign plan to raise £30,000 by the end of 2019. This will be achieved by finding at least 100 people committed to giving £1 a day throughout the year, starting 1st of February 2019.

The money raised will provide grants to refugee small business owners to increase their working capital. Each business will receive a grant of £200 (Around 200,000 Rwanda Francs). This will not only create jobs but also allow refugees and their family to be self-reliant

BHPC Rwanda will identify the families who already have the initiative of changing their lives by creating small businesses, but who lacks the fund to grow a business which can help them feed and educate their children.

Therefore, BHPC UK in cooperation with BHPC France and Rwanda will ensure a follow up to these families and through them and by them, we will help more families improve their lives. Thank you in advance for giving as generously as you can today.
