In April 2018 My husband Steve of 33 years was diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia at the age of 57 and it was like our world had stopped and it did in a way. Steve went into a deep depression and became very unwell he then had a a TIA in the Aug which brought it on even worse. He was all over the place it was like living with a someone I didn't know anymore and it was heart breaking. I was losing my hubby day by day and my hands were tied he was in and out of hospital it was living a nightmare and I just wanted to wake up and it would all be gone but that wasn't going to be the case it was real and it was happening .The run up to Christmas 2018 was awful I was on my knees then these lovely people came in and the help started Steve was home for Christmas and Banyan Home care services had it worked out how to go forward with Steve I was getting help they were taking him out 2 days a week giving me time to catch up with house work shopping and a bit of me time .They started taking him to places what he liked he loves planes so they took him to a local airport where he saw a place called Aerobilityand he went in and talked to them he came home that day full of beans saying I'm gonna fly a plane add it to my bucket list so I did and with the help of his home care service Steve done his flight on the 18th April 2019 which was filmed by the BBC south today and BBC Berkshire Radio I haven't seen him smile like that since our Grand daughter was born he was so so happy . So I have started this page up to help him do his bucket list and also give him some more flying time as we don't know when that day will come when Steve will give me that look and say WHO ARE YOU and this awful illness has took him from me so he want to do as many thing on his bucket list to make memory s for me our kids and our beautiful Grand daughter Amy so If you could spare just a little I would be so grateful as it will all be used to make some treasured memory's that will last a life time that DEMENTIA cant take from us THANK YOU
