I’m going to be honest with you because that’s what I believe in.

This is something I’ve been agonising over with for too long : enough, because honestly, it hurts too much. It’s not fair. I’m holding on because I have hope. I’m not sure I’m ready to put this into words but I know if I don’t, I will continue regretting NOT doing so. With tears in my eyes, I’ll try to explain our situation, and beg for your assistance, to help save my Brother-In-Laws Life, by bringing him to Australia.

EACH night, I have to watch my Wife cry herself to sleep.

I’m Australian, as is my Wife, NOW (born in Russia). Married in 2005, she was granted a Spouse Visa in 2007, and joined me, here. This left her Parents and Brother in Russia. We’ve since been blessed with Two Wonderful Sons who we simply adore.

My Brother-In-Law, Evgenii, is trapped and tortured, in Russia, frantically requiring emergency evacuation to Australia (115 Visa Applicant : but wait time is 56 years).

Tragically in 2010 my Wife’s Mother was admitted to hospital for Brain surgery. Subsequently she had to undergo a second brain operation. Being elderly this left her very weak and frail. In Australia this would have been okay, however Russia (one only has to watch the news on television) is a corrupt country. Doctors there demanded bribery money, for post-operative care for my Wife’s Mother, which we did not have. Maybe we were naive. As a result my Wife’s Mother, literally, was abandoned and neglected, left totally alone, and tragically passed away. My Wife’s Brother did visit the hospital after both operations, but was told “leave, or we’ll call the police”…what choice did he have ?.

A short time later my Wife’s Father was in (the same) hospital. I am unsure how to put this even into words……..he was murdered, in hospital, by the medical staff. Post mortem showed ligature marks on his wrists and ankles where he was tied to the bed. Sheets covered in urine stains. And bruising and blunt force trauma bruises to the head.

WARNING : this URL is GRAPHIC. It shows a similar example of what happened. WARNING : it may very easily and strongly upset some people…………… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inT4PsW1dGM

After the traumatic loss of not only one but BOTH Parents, Evgenii was left totally alone. His only option was to apply for a 115 Visa for Permanent Migration to Australia, to live with us. He has suffered horribly. Mugged numerous times, police broke his nose, “Black Realtors” want his flat (people who trick or use violence to force you to sign your property over to them). He is terrified to even go outside. You can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark : the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light, as is Evgenii.

We’ve consulted our Immigration Lawyer. She is puzzled, and found it suspicious, that we paid $5,000 (required AoS : Assurance of Support), which is only requested when a Visa is about to be granted : we paid this $5,000 THREE years ago!!. Further she said that the 115 Visa is a joke : a 56 year wait time, which means that NO-ONE will ever receive this Visa.

Therefore that only real practical Visa option open to us is a Student Visa, which attracts University International Student fees PLUS compulsory Medical Insurance PLUS Airfares PLUS Lawyer fees.

Evgenii has ZERO money, to meet even his most basal requirements…….buying food to eat (starvation)……paying for a place to live (homeless). Living on the streets in Russia, a person would be robbed, beaten, and freeze to death..…purchasing clothes to keep warm.

Due to a recent, HARD, fall, SLAMMING (at FULL force) into the ice laden streets, Evgenii sustained serious injuries to his Leg, Hip, Back, Arm, and Shoulder. He struggles now-days, to even be able to stand, and walk. This is a physical condition that is deteriorating, rapidly, and offers Evgenii extremely limited mobility. No one, NO ONE, to help him. Even to offer money, still NO one will help Evgenii

Subsequent affliction (exacerbated by depravation of being adequately cared for) is Evgenii’s eye sight, which has worsened, to a point of seriously impaired vision. How can Evgenii even SURVIVE, if he becomes blind.

Follow on effects are Our Children being scared (that is NOT right!!)…seeing that their very own Mother, each day, each night, each week, each month, cannot walk, cannot play, cries herself to sleep.

Evgenii is still alive (only barely), despite of what Russia has done to him, and the atrocities he has suffered first-hand, which contravenes even the most basic human and civil liberties. We will never understand why things happened the way that they did, never able to make sense of it. All that we can do now is look forward to bringing Evgenii to Australia.

WITHOUT Family, we can do nothing. WITH Family, nothing is impossible.

PLEASE help, and share with as many people as possible.

If the only prayer we ever whisper quietly and solemnly is "Thank You”, it will be because your kind generosity has allowed Evgenii the pathway to Australia, and will have saved his life.

Thank you,

Jeff.
