Campaign Story
The patients name is Donnalyn Corpuz, a teacher and a mother of three. Donnalyn is loving and caring person . In February 3 of 2017, she was diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE V SECONDARY TO HYPERTENSIVE NEPHROPATHY . Overtime her kidney disease has gotten worse . Getting dialysis treatments, usually three times a week ( Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) for four hours (which cost P5,000 per session) with the remainder of those days feeling tired or suffering from headaches and dizziness. She has to take a couple of pills a day to help control things like her blood pressure. The development of acute renal failure is usually preceded by an episode of relative HYPOTENSION which Donna experienced every now and then. Having a LOW BLOOD PRESSURE may be fatal. Because of her disease, she had to drop her classes, quit her job and move back home. Her spirits remain high even though there are many trials ahead.
For now the treatment options are limited to DIALYSIS or a KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. The transplant would offer her more freedom and ability to LIVE LONGER, HEALTHIER and LIVE A NORMAL LIFE like spending time with her family and friends.
Finding a kidney for a transplant is not easy. However, there is another option: receiving a kidney from a living donor. Asking a family member or a friend to consider donating a kidney is difficult. Understandably, some people are afraid of the surgery , but though we’re not able to match a living donor yet it is a humbling experience to know that her nephew will cover for that - she just hope he’ll be a perfect match. But another problem is the cost of evaluation and surgery for Donna and her donor.
Donna have health insurance called PHILHEALTH, but there are numerous expenses that they will endure before and after surgeries : and many of which will not be covered by insurance anymore.
Please help Donna and her donor to received the very best care possible. The dialysis process is long and so is the transplant. Complicated and costly. Donna and her nephew already finished their Blood typing and luckily Thanks God their are the same Blood type A positive.
Your donation can help diminish the weight of financial burdens. The funds you donate will be used solely to cover the costs associated with the surgery, medications, and other expenses related to Donna and donors recovery, as well as for their future expenses and lifetime maintenance for her anti rejection medicine.
Kindly donate , anything helps! Or share on your varying social media. The more people that see it, the more likely Donna can reach her goal.
For those who wants to donate for Donna's Kidney Transplant Fund especially residing here in the Philippines you can also deposit your help donations in her Bank Accounts.
