Donations for the CommonGround Project

As of today, there are roughly 2,800,000 Ukrainian people, now war refugees, needing our assistance. That number is rising each day. They need our help. It is estimated that so far, xxx Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Latvia, and most of them had to leave their homes with little more than a backpack.

There is already a lot of support coming from individual ISR families, some of them even opening their doors to displaced families. These are very trying times and every little thing helps. These past few days, we have been looking for a trustworthy organization we could partner with in order to unify our efforts. Thanks to one of our PTO member's relentless efforts, we have identified the CommonGround project as the organization we would like to support.

Founded by the team that organized the Riga Biennale ( RIBOCA) two years ago, the CommonGround project will be open this week and will serve as a center where the refugees (mainly children) can socialize (dance, play, watch movies, do handcraft), read books, etc. The space will also feature silent rooms, a library, classes for children, and people will also be able to get professional phycological help. The organization is trying to purchase a video projector and sound system for their "cinema room". The goal is to provide much-needed entertainment to children who had to flee their homes. Our ambitious goal is to raise the 2000 euros to purchase this equipment. Every euro counts and we are very grateful to all our community members who choose to donate.
