DONATION WORKSHOPS

Our tour operador Colourful Ecuador Travels is looking to support the families that are part of our social/animal projects with groceries during these tough times.

The income of most families depended on selling candy or flowers on the streets, washing/cleaning cars at traffic lights, etc.

CURRENT SITUATION DUE TO THE CORONA CRISIS:

Since the government restrictions were imposed (lockdown in which people are only allowed to leave their homes in order to buy grocieries or to go to the pharmacies), the situation has changed drastically for many people in Ecuador:

- Most people have lost their jobs (as domestic helpers, laundresses, street vendors, etc.). That means: no income anymore.

- Families are lacking the most necessary goods such as food and hygiene products.

Since we understand that donating money for food is not necessarily a long term sustainable solution, it is an inmediate necessity for many families. A lot of the projects that we support involve children whos parents suffer from drug addcition, alcoholism, work in prostitution etc.

For these children a warm meal was sometimes only possible at our project sites and not at home.

With the donated money we will personally buy groceries for the affected families. We estimate that a family of 7 can eat for a week with $10.
