URGENT Help needed please for Timaru Masjid

The Timaru Muslim Educational Trust (TMET) is a non-profit charitable organisation with registration number 2732832 under NZ Charitable Trusts Act 1957 with Registrar of Incorporated Societies New Zealand.

In March 2019, TMET has entered into 6 months contract to purchase a building in Parkside, Timaru with a cost of NZD 425, 000 has to be raise by 1st September 2019 (settlement date).

It is now only 2 months left for community to pay the full amount

This building will InsyaAllah be the first Masjid in Timaru, South Island New Zealand.

Timar District is at a distance of two hours drive from Christchurch. It is a vibrant city of South Island and have around 20 Muslim families or around 65 individuals (including men, women and children) residing in the district at the moment. Moreover, Timaru is recently selected as refugee resettlement area and it is expected to receive 20 Muslim refugee families by next year.

The place under consideration was a community centre of the Roman Catholic Church. The total land size is around 1700sqm and building is constructed on 350sqm This is build on two floors with a build area which can accommodate over 200 people with a car parking of around 30 cars on site.

Due to being just near to SH1 and within the town, this place is going to be very useful for the community to use as a masjid, an Islamic Education and Community Centre, a place for our children and wider community to get to understand Islam better (Insha’Allah).

We are a small group and to help us realise the completion of the building purchase, we are humbly appealing to our fellow Islamic organisations and community members for your support and financial assistance.

Currently, we are hiring a hall for our prayer, and gathering including for iftar and Taraweeh.

Indeed Allah most high says: "...and whatever you donate shall be repaid to you in full..."(2:272)

And our beloved Prophet (s.a.w) has said "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Bukhari)
