I also attached below his picture from last year and this year. Also his solicitation letter.

I am Anthony Cagaoan, a Registered Nurse and Midwife and a former full time faculty member in Manila Doctors College, La Consolacion College Manila and Far Eastern University. Former Alveo Land Corp and SMDC property consultant And a freelance Salesperson for the last two years. I am 37 years old and currently residing at 1B Main Street Greenview Park Pamplona 3 Las Pinas City.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with this rare condition of Cervical Dystonia Parkinsonism last July 2019.I experienced the symptoms on the last week of May 2019. My eyes started twitching and it was difficult for me to open my eyes during daytime. I thought it was a simple eye problem that is why I had my eyes checked by an ophthalmologist in Perpetual Help in Las Piñas, but everything was clear.

When I told to my friends about my condition. One of my friends sister who is a Doctor suggested that I should consult a Neurologist. Knowing that there’s specialist in PGH I went there and based on Dr. Pasco, a Neurologist, his observations based on the symptoms that I have are the same for those who have X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism. Sometime in June 2019 my jaw started to open involuntarily. As suggested by my doctor, I went through the Genetic Testing in UP PGH and by July 2019 I am positive to have X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism.

Because of my condition I am experiencing difficulty in speaking and seeing. It is now hard for me to express myself, I write everything I need to say. Which resulted for me to stop working it is a challenge to us considering that I am the breadwinner of the family. All my savings went to medications, another procedure and other expenses in the house considering that we are renting and my mother has maintenance drugs for Diabetes and Hypertension.

I am now taking medications to relax and lessen the excessive movement of my eyes and jaw. I also did Status Post Chemodenervation with Botulinum Toxin. According to my doctors the only treatment that can improve my condition and I can possibly work is to undergo the Deep Brain Stimulation (to implant a device that send electrical signals to brain areas responsible for body movement). The operation can only be done in Cardinal Santos and Asian hospital because they have the facility for such critical operation procedure.

We ask for assistance since the surgery will cost more or less 2M including confinement, operation and ICU after the procedure.

I am humbly asking for financial assistance to extend my life because we really don’t know where to get funds for the operation. It would be a great help to my family and me and hopefully to the future patients I will be handling when I got back to be working as a nurse again since it was really my passion.

Your prayers and monetary assistance is highly appreciated and I will be forever grateful all my life and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Sincerely,

Anthony Cagaoan
