Donation Drive Fire Victims of Silangan II

Last Friday, April 26th, 2019 17:00, a fire raged the Tejero-Silangan area (commonly called Gothong / Pier area) displacing about 220 families.

We were saddened by this news. Gothong is one of our ministry areas and we have conducted countless feedings, medical missions and connect groups here. We have known several of the kids here, who have now grown up to young adults and are currently volunteers at our church.

On top of that, we have 30-40 kids who are currently coming to church every Sunday. We have grown to love and care for these kids. Hence, seeing all of them losing their respective homes breaks our hearts.

On that the same night (April 26th), we managed to give them some mattresses, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, and towels. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for everyone.

Many of the families have expressed their grief for not being able to bring anything.

The affected families are currently staying at Tejero Sports Complex and some are camping in front of the Pier 3.

These are their current needs:

Immediate Needs:
- Clothing
- Foods and water
- Sleeping mats/foam mattress
- Basic supplies (tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoos, soap, etc.)

Long-term Needs:
- Housing materials

The reason for this cause is to be able to help out those families and help them stand again.

So far, we have collected several used clothing and some money offline from church donations but it's not enough to be able to assist those families. We are hoping we could find more financial support to be able to help out with their long term needs.
