Currently Sri Lanka ranked in the bottom one third of the world. This is due to the issue of poverty, specifically, rural poverty. Nearly 90% of the poor live in rural areas, with over 80% of Sri Lanka’s population still living in rural areas.
Sri Lankan families from low-income families cross the country to meet their needs since the curfew has been lifted, It is vital to ensure that they are safe. And necessary safety precautions have been taken. Hence we kindly request a small contribution in order to carry out these projects successfully
“Hope for Humanity'20” is the second step of the series of Multi Service Projects which will be done by community organizers by in rural areas in Srilanka.
Recently, Project “Hope for Humanity” was implemented in few rural areas in Srilanka. Further we planned to reach out to the other areas ,this project will consisted of several donation programs and awareness programs.
Because of the Covid'19 pandemic situation, we couldn't conduct it as we planned. Initially we got a list of low-Income families in this village from the community chief.
We plan to distribute dry rations, personal protection equipments, Education materials, Plants among them. Apart from that, services from the National Eye Donation Society will be made available for them. We registered several donors for eye and tissue donation program.
Further we will donate reading glasses to the visually impaired persons. Drug awareness program was also done simultaneously.
At the end by August 5th 2020 we hope to end this project with religious observances.
