DONATE TO MY 285 MILE BRAKING AIDS BIKE RIDE TO SUPPORT HOUSING WORKS NYC

Hello All!

For the third year in a row, I am riding my bike 285 miles from Boston to New York over three days to support Housing Works and the fight to end AIDS. As challenging as the BRAKING AIDS® Ride is (we have ridden through heat, cold and torrential rain in prior years), it's nothing compared to the struggle that people living with HIV/AIDS face each day.

This cause is deeply personal to me; my dear cousin and his partner have been living with this disease for decades, but they are strong and healthy today due in large part to the strides made over that time period in medicine, support systems and removing the "stigma" against HIV/AIDS.

Your donation will go right to work providing housing, medical and mental health services, and advocacy on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS.

For the first time, we have the tools to end the AIDS crisis. With new tools and new political will – and the ongoing leadership of Housing Works – we have a plan in place to end AIDS as an epidemic in New York State by 2020. And it’s not just New York: the United Nations has established 2030 as its target date to bring global infection rates below epidemic levels.

These are real goals backed by real science. If achieved, they will change the course of history. But they will only happen with your help.

I am targeting a new personal goal this year, to raise $20,000 for this important cause. My highest total was $10,000 in prior years, so I am asking each and every one of you to help me achieve this goal. I have donated $1,000 to kick start my fundraising.
