Donate to help Needy Kenyan Community – Half Marathon!!

Laura, Claudia and Gerald will run the Jedburg half marathon in Scotland to raise money for Kipepeo Community Empowerment Program (K.C.E.P)- all donations will go to help people live better lifes in Kisumu, Kenya. We thank you in advance for your kind donations – no matter how small – every little will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in poverty. Please dig deep in your pockets and remember....we have trained so very hard for this gruelling run :)

Kipepeo Community Empowerment Program is a non-profit charity and community based organization in Emuhaya District, Western Kenya. It was initiated in 2009 and is run by poor local volunteers aiming to change the lives of people in underprivileged local villages. Through various projects Kipepeo empowers people and groups by proving opportunities and support to: improve well-being, overcome barriers caused by poverty and help people become self-sustainable.

The projects include: HIV/aids awareness and support, rehabilitating street kids, capacity-building, promoting women’s empowerment, organic farming projects, providing free kindergarten for vulnerable children, computer training and library services,  youth empowerment, microfinance training and monitoring (community savings and loaning), environmental education and protection, community voluntary service and supporting orphaned and vulnerable children.  The program is also builds networks with local institutions in order to help youths gain skills, facilitate appropriate career choices, provide employment and generate opportunities for education and training.
