The herbal cancer remedy/cure, Essiac, has had over 100 years of anecdotal evidence from tens of thousands of people as to it's efficacy in the 20th Century! It is an American Indian formula in origin and was popularized by Nurse Renee Caisse (last name pronounced "Ki") who used it to treat thousands of patients in her career. Essiac is anecdotally efficacious or helpful in remedying/curing many types of cancer, including breast, throat, stomach, colon (which the late U.S. president Kennedy's personal physician, Charles Brusch, mythically said he cured his own colon cancer with alone in a purportedly notarized statement!)
Cynthia Olsen and Jim Chan co-authored a book on Caisse's life, career, and struggles with using Essiac, which book is called by the name of the remedy/cure, Essiac, which is Caisse spelled backwards, including how Nurse Caisse treated close members of her own family who had cancers, as well as her other patients, effectively according to anecdotal evidence with Essiac. This book is part of some of the rewards we offer for your donations; so donate generously today to get it!
I, too, have used Essiac for over a decade to treat various maladies including intestinal bleeding so severe that ER doctors wanted to give me a blood transfusion which I refused and which intestinal bleeding I cured completely with Essiac and GeritolR. That intestinal bleeding and tachycardia (accelerated heart beat due to anemia or blood loss) developed because of an aspirin regimen that my eye doctor had put me on to cure a blocked blood vessel in my eye and to which conditions I was alerted by a severe pain in my left arm for which I sought pain alleviation not knowing what it was but which was from my heart's condition. Also, I treated suspected breast cancer with it, and other maladies during that time.
Essiac also has a name anecdotally for remedying/curing other maladies like diabetes reputedly balancing blood sugar levels and otherwise helping the pancreas in its activities to do so. It is also anecdotally purportedly efficacious or helpful for other oral and stomach and intestinal problems.
The reason we need this money is because we have to hire a clinical consultant (the one we want to work with is Ms. Lisa Mazurka, President of Clinical Research Consulting, Inc.) to help us do a clinical trial with the NIH to prove scientifically the efficacy of Essiac so that the FDA will allow it to claim treatment/curative powers on its labeling. For although as I noted above, there are in the tens of thousands of cases of anecdotal evidence (anecdotal means an individual story that may not be repeatable under scientific conditions unless scientifically proven to be so) no one has ever proved its efficacy in a scientific manner for various reasons. The latter is what we would like to try to do although there are many forms/brands of this herbal mixture already on the market as food supplements; they just can't make claims to treat or cure any disease without said testing and FDA approval or they must state on their product labels that such statements have not been approved by the FDA.
With the money we are raising here, we will contract with Ms. Mazurka for her to help us find an M.D. to work with us, help us secure an IRB (Institutional Review Board) for ethical and other competency oversight which both the NIH and the FDA require for such a clinical trial (hiring them will cost yet more money!), possibly help us get further grants, help with forming the protocol and the informed consent form for which the FDA has specific detailed guidelines that we must meet and contact a manufacturer of a brand of Essiac to interest them in working with us on this trial with their brand.
What we are trying to do is a very innovative approach although also a very old one. What is innovative is to try to prove the tens of thousands of cases of anecdotal efficacy we already have over 100 years to be scientifically statistically significant and repeatable. The very old approach is using these herbs in their natural state in this formulation (rather than in a chemically produced formulation using the molecular structure of the active components in what are usually considered pharmaceutical formulations.) Michael McGuffin, President of the American Herbal Products Association recently said to me in a telephone conversation between himself and me when I was soliciting him and his organization to serve as our IRB (see above), that although he and his staff are unable to work with us on this trail due to other prior commitments in this field, that he also believes that what we are doing is important.
Thank you in advance for your generous donations and for your support of this cause!
I was inspired by among other things and people to try to do this study by the work of ophthalmologists, Jeffrey N. Weiss, M.D. and Steven Levy, M.D.'s groundbreaking and very statistically successful (approximately 60% improved vision rate (!) which renowned oncologist, Bernie Siegel, author of the book entitled, Love, Medicine and Miracles, who very kindly, originally agreed to be a consultant on this trial with me, informed me is statistically significant!) and whom I also contacted to help me with this trial but sadly who cannot. These M.D.'s have done and are still doing in, their ongoing trial, a very significant, innovative, and out-of-the-box study using stem cells to help their study's subjects' vision to improve. Also, they're very nice men! See the article I read describing their work and how they went about it here and contact them if you need help in this area by e-mailing Dr. Levy at [email protected]
