How to reduce the global emission of CO2? The concept is easy! Since I currently own a petrol-fueled car, I'd like to replace it with a fully electric one. Unfortunately, I can't afford it due to their high cost when compared to traditional cars. If I continue driving a petrol-fueled car, I'm pretty worried about the effect this has on the environment.
Now, if I can find 60.000 people around the globe to give me 1€, it could solve the problem. Upon collecting the money, I promise to buy a Tesla Model 3 with the equipment of my choice immediately!
If you don't believe me that 1€ is enough to reduce the emission of CO2 by such an amount, here's my math:
An average car makes 15.000 kilometers (approx. 9320 miles) per year.
My car emits 107 grams per kilometer.
Yearly emission of my car = kilometers per year * amount per kilometer = 15.000 km * 107 g/km = 1605 kg ≈ 1.5 tons.
Price of the new car = 60.000 €
Expected donation (per capita) = 1 €
Expected number of people ready to donate = 60.000
Expected donation * expected number of people = 60.000 € = price of the new car
Yearly emission of a Tesla car = 0
P.S: If I collect more than the expected 60.000 €, I'll consider buying a more expensive model of Tesla like Tesla S or Model X ;-)
